Discover Spain's Wonderful Regional Spanish Cuisine
Freshly prepared Spanish dishes start with extra virgin Spanish olive oil, and may include wine, garlic, beans-peas, fresh herbs and spices especially saffron, cheese, rice of course, almonds or other nuts and fresh fruit. And then you can add fresh fish or seafood, Spanish ham or sausage, wild game or beef, chicken, fresh bread, and wine to sip and you've just created a Spanish delicacy that says yum, and then enjoy!

The Route of Liquid Gold (Olive Oil) 8 Nights / 9 Days in Granada – Baeza – Ubeda – Cordoba – Sevilla

Olives and Olive Oil have been an important product of Andalucía, since the Roman times. Today, a third of Europe’s best olive oil is produced in this region, with over 260 varieties of olives and from the places you’ll visit along the Route of Liquid Gold. All throughout the year the county of Jaen, once a Moorish stronghold and the largest producer of Olive Oil in the world, celebrates Olives and Olive Oil. Even the Royalty participates.

Your gastronomic adventure takes you to magnificent Granada and the beautiful towns of Baeza and Ubeda, both showcases of Renaissance splendor and both are
UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  From there it’s on to the splendid cities of Cordoba and Sevilla. And, of course, all along the way you’ll partake of a gastronomy that owes its existence to Olive Oil.  Your dining experience will be complimented with excellent wines and sherry.

Although olive oil is produced and sold by Greece and Italy, a vast amount of Spanish olives are sold to said countries to produce their olive oils.  Spain's olive oil is the best there is, with over 260 varieties of olives you can imagine not only the wonderful liquid gold that is produced, but the variety of wonderfully delicioius olives to enjoy on your table, and the olive tree itself holds symbols of peace, wisdom and progress. Spain accounts for over 30% of the olive trees worldwide, and the primary olive producing region in Spain is Andalusia, owing to 77% of the olive production.  Olives are a part of the world of food today, enjoy!
