As we celebrate this years
Independence Day, we need to be thankful that we are a
free people. Unlike so many other cultures, freedom
isn't a way of life, nor an option. In the same
token, we should never take our freedom for granted.
We Americans now know the results of that kind of
thinking, and we'll always have to be vigilant and
cautious since our freedom has now been compromised.
We also need to pay a special tribute to all of the
military people that gave their lives for the rest of us
Americans [and other countries], to keep our country,
and other countries free from tyrannical rule that so
many people have to bear.
Our country was founded by people simply wanting and
needing to be free from the greediness of the empowered
and tyrant rulers, religious persecution and to have the
chance to start afresh. America is based on a free
society, which is freedom in every sense of the word.
Let's really celebrate the 4th of July, and thank all of
the people in our history that have struggled founding
our great country, and who have died for us, to gain the
freedom that we have today, and in turn becoming the
leader for world peace and believing in freedom for all
people.

For approximately 12 million people, Ellis Island was a part of
their freedom process and became a part of Liberty Monument in 1965.
It now houses a museum
for the history of immigration, and the important role of
the island, for the masses migrating to the United States, to seek
freedom in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
- The Statue of Liberty has re-opened
after being closed due to terrorist acts. You must however, go to
