    Memorial Day was originally known as Decoration Day to
    honor the Civil War dead by decorating their grave.  This
    holiday was first observed on May 30, 1868.

    The 60th Anniversary of D-Day Information on Times Square
    Reuters sign, has been taken over by Maison de la France
    [the official French Government website] and TV5 the
    French channel televised in the US.
