      1. Eiffel Tower

 
  Eiffel Tower or Tour Eiffel
is the most visited  monu-ment in France. Built for the World Exposition in 1889 it was not received well by the French at all, but was such a success it became the most visited attraction today.
 
   
      6. Opera Garnier
  A Baroque Masterpiece
  The Palais Garnier is not only a must see but a must attend if you're into the arts at all. Named the Academie Nationale de Musique and Theatre de l'Opera, was built in 1875. The name was changed twice and in 1989 to the Palais Garnier.
 

    2. Louvre Museum



 
  The Louvre is one of the largest museums in the world, and the most visited in Paris.  Her two most noted works of art are the world's famous Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo reside there. The Louvre is a must see when in Paris!
 
 
 7. Ave Champs-Elysees
    The Avenue of Trees


 
  The Avenue des Champs-Elysees is the most visited and prestigious avenue in Paris.  The magnificent mile [or two] of elite hotels and restaurants, luxury shopping cinemas, National events, and is known as the most beautiful avenue in the world. 
 

    3. Arc de Triomphe


 
  One of the most noted landmarks is the Arch of Triumph/Arc de Triomphe, to recognize the military honors, primarily battles fought under Napoleon I. The Arc is centered in Place Charles de Gaulle
head of Champs-Elysees.
 
 
      8. Latin Quarter


 
  The Latin Quarter is a favorite arrondissement in
Paris and the bohemian lifestyle that it is associated with. It sits on the left bank and home to the Sorbonne University and borders St. Germaine des Prix, a must visit.
 

      4.  Notre Dame




 
  Notre Dame Cathedrale is the next most popular visited church and monument in Paris.
Located in Ile-de la Cite [this is the original area of Paris called Lutetia and dating back some
1500 years]. Notre Dame is about 850 years old
 
 
    9. Tuileries Gardens




 
  The Palais des Tuileries was a royal palace and gardens. Catherine de Medici planned this new palace after Henry II died.  The palace itself was destroyed during the turmoil in 1871. The gardens and lake is a lovely spot to stop and relax and people watch. It's located on the Right Bank.

5. Paris d'Orsay Museum

 

 
  The d'Orsay Museum is a must see in Paris, housed in what use to be the old train station along the River Seine, across from Tuileries gardens. The museum was built for the Universal Exposition of 1900 and itself being a work of art.
 
 
10. Place de la  Concorde



 
  Place de la Concorde is another magnificent square calle Place de la Concorde for all to enjoy.  It's located at the eastern end of the Champs-Elysees and sits in between the that avenue and the Tuileires Gardens. The name has changed through the times of revolution and . .
